The best waxes are made with pure carnauba wax and can last 6-8 weeks before breaking down. I recommend monthly waxing to ensure protection from UV rays, heat, moisture, oxidation, and environmental contamination. For a longer lasting layer of protection, I suggest a high quality paint sealant. A premium paint sealant can last 4 to 6 months, sometimes longer. By “last”, I mean that water will continue to bead and the paint will remain protected from UV rays and contamination. The best option is to coat your vehicle with a layer of sealant for long-lasting protection and then top it with a layer of carnauba for the dazzling shine. Even if you forget to reapply carnauba in 6 weeks, your paint won’t suffer.
What is a Clay Bar treatment?
Auto Detailing Clay is an engineered resin compound used to remove contaminants from the surface of your car’s paint, glass, fiberglass and metal. Auto detailing clay removes from the paint what washing cannot. (i.e. industrial fallout, tree sap, road tar, rail dust and brake dust). These contaminants pierce paint finishes, glass and metal and remain stuck on your vehicle through rain, car washes, and even polishing. The only way to remove these pollutants is – you guessed it – detailing clay. Detailing clay glides along the surface of your paint and grabs anything that protrudes from the surface. The particle sticks to the clay and is therefore removed from your vehicle.
Is high speed buffing safe for my car's paint?
That depends on a lot of factors. It depends on the skill level of the person operating the machine, the quality of materials used, the products used, the thickness of your clearcoat, etc... Most "detailers" use a rotary polisher, a high speed circular buffer which offers complete scratch removal in the right hands. Unfortunately, the right hands are few and far between. Rotary polishers are responsible for the majority of swirled & marred paint. I prefer to use a dual-action polisher 95% of the time. Dual Action polishers are characterized by the motion of the head. It spins on a central spindle, and this spindle rotates around an eccentric offset. A good metaphor for a dual action polisher is the earth’s orbit. The earth itself spins and it also orbits around the sun. Dual action polishers are also called orbital polishers for this reason. The rotating and orbiting of the pad produces what many refer to as a "jiggling" motion. This irregular motion prevents the polisher from burning the paint, which refers to removal of paint below the clear coat surface. Dual action polishers are very USER FRIENDLY because they produce very little heat compared to a rotary polisher. In most cases, a dual action polisher can reverse the damage done by a rotary polisher. Dual action polishers will improve the texture and luster of automotive paint with virtually no risk.
What are swirls?
Swirls are the most common problem found on cars. They appear as spiderweb like patterns in your clearcoat that are easily visible in direct sunlight. These patterns reflect light in a million different directions to detract from overall shine. They can be removed with a Pro Detail service. The difference will amaze you!

How do I know if a scratch can be removed?
A good way of assessing a scratch is to run your fingernail over it. If your fingernail catches in the scratch; that generally means it is too deep to be removed without professional help. Scratches and swirls that extend through to the color coat will require repainting or a touch-up at the very least. Do not attempt to remove these scratches because you can remove the entire clear coat, resulting in paint system failure.
